Paris, city of lights, kinda… I mean I can’t complain, but after visiting Paris a couple of times already I thought the city wouldn’t be able to impress me anymore, but I was wrong. This year my boyfriend and I picked Paris as our annual citytrip (his parents gave me a coupon for a citytrip for my birthday! Awesome!). I was a little skeptical about Paris since I’ve never really found it as pretty as I imagined in the movies, but this year I decided to not plan our trip as much as I usually do so we could just enjoy our stay in Paris a little more.
I will include some pictures but we didn’t take a lot of pictures since we were enjoying the moment. Most of the pictures are really touristy pictures *wink*.
∴∴What to do on your second trip to Paris∴∴
Visit “La Louvre” just to take some awesome pics
Everybody knows that “when you visit Paris, you should go to the Louvre”. Well we did! But not to walk an endless amount of hours inside to watch the paintings because, let’s be honest, very few people actually go inside for the art. Most of them go inside just to be able to say “I’ve been inside the Louvre”. Me, personally, I’ve been inside and liked it but I didn’t find it worth another go. That’s why my boyfriend and I just wanted to take some “awesome” pics.
Wander around the little Parisienne streets
Most people make a strict schedule when visiting Paris, we didn’t, like I said before.
We really just wandered around and thought “go with the flow”. This way we found some nice café’s, bars and places. I’m not saying you should follow this method the entire trip but you should try it at least one day. Trust me, it will be worth it.
Enjoy a real French Breakfast in a local Café
We all know breakfast in a hotel can be quite expensive, so we went “urban” with it. We left our hotel with an empty stomach so we could really enjoy the french “à l’aise” way. Some “baguette avec confiture et une café et un petit croissant” tasted extremely good. To top it off we bought some macarons to snack on our way down town.
Visit less popular monuments
Most people visit the big monuments (think; La tour Eiffel, Le Notre-Dame,…) on their first trip to Paris and I don’t find it interesting to go over them again. So we searched for some less popular yet interesting things to see. For example we went to Dôme des Invalides, which is the last resting place of in the infamous Napoleon Bonaparte. My dad is a huge fan of him and told me all about it so I was quite curious to see this place for myself. It’s a really beautiful place and it’s also free for people that are younger than 27. Which is an extra bonus point.
Go imaginary shopping in Les Galeries de Lafayette
Since few have the budget to really spend their coin in this amazing mall, we let our eyes feast on the endless amount of overpriced but yet so pretty brands.
But if you don’t feel the need to go in and imaginary buy the entire place you can always really enjoy the view inside Les Galeries and the view on top of the building. Both are breathtaking and really worth your time. We did both of these things in +/- three hours and didn’t regret it at all.
Tip! Fun game to play here: find the most expensive item!
Visit Le Notre-Dame when there is a choir singing
For me, one of the most memorable moments of the entire trip was when we went inside Le Notre-Dame and we were amazed by the angelic voices of a choir inside. This was something I had never seen before and I felt like I was in a movie. This is certainly something you should look out for when you visit this place, I guarantee you, it’s amazing!
When you visit Paris for a second time you’ll notice that one time in this beautiful city isn’t quite enough.
